We believe in the importance of preserving the health and beauty of our natural environment. As such, we will endeavour to minimise the physical impact of the Greater Manchester Marathon wherever possible. 

The Greater Manchester Marathon aims to work in harmony with the local culture, by working with local communities in the delivery and legacy of the event, and through the choice of route through the iconic city, which passes many sites of cultural significance. 
It is the organiser’s intention for the Greater Manchester Marathon to generate opportunities for local people and businesses. 

We seek to ensure that the Greater Manchester Marathon will bring a positive experience for local people, local businesses, spectators, and the participants themselves.
